Texid Injection 5 ml is classified under the group of medications known as anti-fibrinolytic agents. This medication is primarily indicated for managing abnormal bleeding in a variety of medical situations, including heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), nosebleeds (epistaxis), surgical procedures involving the cervix (such as conization), and postoperative bleeding following prostatectomy (surgery on the prostate) or cystectomy (bladder surgery). It can also be utilized in cases of traumatic hyphaema, which is bleeding within the eye, and is administered to individuals with hemophilia during dental procedures to mitigate excessive bleeding. Additionally, it may be beneficial for patients with hereditary angioneurotic edema (HANO). The active component of Texid Injection 5 ml is tranexamic acid, an agent that assists the body’s natural mechanism for blood clotting by inhibiting the process that breaks down fibrin, thereby promoting the stability of blood clots and helping to prevent significant blood loss. Texid Injection 5 ml is provided in a parenteral format and is to be administered by a qualified healthcare professional, meaning self-administration is not permitted. While the treatment is generally well tolerated, it may produce side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, skin irritation or itching, and discomfort at the injection site; these effects are typically transient. If persistently troubling or serious symptoms, such as visual disturbances, arise during treatment, it is critical to seek medical attention promptly.
