This medication combines two active ingredients, Glimepiride and Metformin. Glimepiride functions by stimulating the pancreas to enhance insulin secretion, which contributes to lowering blood glucose levels. Concurrently, Metformin works by decreasing glucose production in the liver, slowing the absorption of sugar derived from food, and improving the body’s sensitivity to insulin.
