Lacoset 50 Tablet is indicated for the management and prevention of seizures in individuals diagnosed with epilepsy. Its mechanism of action involves the modulation of excessive and abnormal electrical activity in the brain’s nerve cells, thereby helping to reduce the incidence and severity of seizures. The medication can be taken with or without food, but it is advisable to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in the body. In cases where a dose is missed, it is crucial to take it promptly upon remembering; however, if it is close to the time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and do not double up. This precaution is important as a missed dose may lead to a serious increase in seizure activity. Completion of the prescribed treatment course is essential, even if the patient feels an improvement, as discontinuation without medical advice may also trigger a rise in seizure frequency. Patients should inform their healthcare provider about any pre-existing heart conditions before initiating treatment. Some individuals may experience side effects such as headaches, dizziness, dry mouth, muscle spasms, blurred vision, nausea, and diplopia. Most side effects are transient and tend to resolve over time.
