Clavix 150 Tablet is an antiplatelet agent designed to inhibit the aggregation of platelets, thus functioning as a blood thinner. Its primary role is to reduce the risk of serious blood clots forming within the blood vessels, which can lead to critical conditions such as heart attacks or strokes. This medication is frequently prescribed to individuals identified as being at elevated risk for cardiovascular diseases. High-risk groups include those suffering from peripheral vascular disease, recent myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accident, arrhythmias, and patients who have undergone specific cardiac interventions such as stenting. Additionally, Clavix may be used in conjunction with other medications for managing heart attacks or certain forms of angina, known as unstable angina. Patients are advised to take Clavix consistently, with or without food, preferably at the same time daily, to maintain stable blood levels of the medicine. It is crucial to continue treatment even when feeling well, as discontinuation could heighten the risk of heart attack or stroke. The most frequently reported adverse effect associated with Clavix is bleeding, which may manifest as bruises, nosebleeds, blood in urine or black stools, or heavier menstrual cycles in women. In the event of an injury, bleeding may take longer to cease. While these bleeding episodes typically resolve without intervention, it is important to seek medical advice if bleeding is persistent or concerning. Clavix is contraindicated in patients with active bleeding disorders, such as bleeding ulcers or intracranial hemorrhage. Additionally, patients should inform their healthcare provider of any history of clotting issues, recent injuries, or surgeries, as this medicine might need to be temporarily suspended prior to elective surgical or dental procedures.
