It is also effective in treating mania. This medication can be administered with or without food, although it is suggested to take it during the evening. Consistency in the timing of doses is important for maintaining stable drug levels in the body, so taking it at the same hour every day is recommended. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Some side effects that may occur are insomnia, sedation, drowsiness, vomiting, cough, signs of parkinsonism, headache, and fever.
